This is a make-or-break moment
Friends,
The final FEC deadline before the election is on Oct. 14 at 11:59 p.m. That’s just around the corner, and I’ll be honest: This is a make-or-break moment for our campaign. Let me explain.
Right now, polls show me with a razor-thin lead over Roger Marshall. Multiple election forecasters — from Nate Silver to Cook Political Report and even Steve Kornacki — have shifted this race to a toss-up. And Roll Call officially named Roger Marshall one of the most vulnerable senators in the country.
That’s all really good news. But here’s the not-so-good news: The latest polls show this race is tightening. Roger Marshall and his allies are going all out to crush our momentum. In fact, the GOP’s top super PAC just launched a massive ad buy to drown us out and turn voters against me right as early voting in Kansas gets underway.
That brings me to the FEC deadline. We’ve set a goal of raising $2,000,000 by 11:59 p.m. on Oct. 14. That’s just three days from now. If we fall short of our target, Marshall and his supporters will think we’re vulnerable — and they’ll almost certainly up their spend and their attacks even more than they already have.
With the first Kansans starting to cast their ballots on Oct. 14, we need to reach our goal to keep our ads on the air, fight back against the super PAC’s attack ads and reach every voter we can.
Friends, everything we raise by the FEC deadline will be a matter of public record, so we absolutely cannot slow down now. Sen. Marshall and his allies are pouring everything into this race because they know it’s going to come down to the wire. They didn’t expect that. For the last 94 years, every Kansas U.S. Senator has come from the same political party. They didn’t think a first-time candidate with a grassroots campaign built around bringing people together instead of tearing them apart could win this.
But we can. We must.
Kansans deserve better than another six years of Roger Marshall rubber-stamping policies that cut their healthcare, make it harder to buy groceries and drive up the price of gas. They deserve a leader who will work to build bridges, listen to their problems and fight to make their lives better.
This final FEC deadline before the election is a chance to send that message loud and clear to Sen. Marshall and his allies one last time before voters go to the polls. Most of all, it’s a chance to show them the true strength of our incredible grassroots movement. Because make no mistake: They’ll be watching.
Thank you for all you do,
Adam
