We’re here because of you

Friends,

In just a few hours, I’ll be taking the stage against Roger Marshall. Just like I did in our last debate, I’m going to hold him accountable for turning his back on hardworking Kansas families across our state.

Before that, I wanted to take a moment to reach out with a personal note of thanks.

We’re coming in to this debate with the wind at our backs:

🏁 Multiple election forecasters, from The Cook Political Report to Nate Silver, Sabato’s Crystal Ball and even Steve Kornacki, have shifted this race to “toss-up.”

🏁 Polls show me with a narrow lead over Marshall.

🏁 People on both sides of the aisle have endorsed my campaign, including six former Kansas governors — two of whom are Republicans — our current governor, lifelong Republican Arch “Pond” Naramore and thousands of people just like you.

But, we haven’t gotten here alone. Everything we’ve accomplished has happened because of our amazing grassroots team. In other words, because of you.

You’ve helped drive this campaign forward every time you’ve read a Substack post. Filled out a survey. Chipped in to our campaign. Talked to a neighbor about why you support me. Helped someone make a plan to vote. Knocked on a door, made a phone call or forwarded one of my emails.

Your support has made all the difference in getting us to a place where we have a historic opportunity to win this race. And because of you and thousands of people like you, when we win, Kansans will finally have a leader who will put their well-being first and be a true champion for them — even when doing so is hard.

You see, that’s what a leader does. They stand up for their communities, prioritize people over party and say no to the cruel and chaotic policies that make their constituents’ lives harder.

Friends, real leaders don’t rubber-stamp slashes to the healthcare assistance that thousands of people rely on. They don’t keep us in a war that’s driving up gas prices and sending diesel through the roof. And they don’t approve disastrous tariffs that cost their people $100+ every month.

You know that, and I know that. But Sen. Marshall has done all these things and more over the past year, which is why I’m going to hold him accountable up there tonight. I’ll be speaking up for every single person who feels betrayed by the leader they elected to represent them. But I can’t do it alone. Before I take the stage, I need your support one more time.

You see, with early voting underway and Election Day just around the corner, top GOP super PACs are swooping in to try to buy this seat for Roger Marshall. They’re spending millions on massive ad buys to turn voters against me just as they’re going to the polls.

My team and I have set a $150,000 pre-debate goal to help us fight back against their attacks, fund our get-out-the-vote efforts and make sure every Kansan knows what’s at stake here. I wouldn’t ask if it wasn’t important, but this is a make-or-break moment.
