Today is Election Day

A note from Adam

Hello, Kansas. Today is Election Day.

The last six months have been such a blessing, traveling across the state and getting to meet so many amazing Kansans! Our state is full of hardworking, kind and decent people, but too often, Washington is making our lives harder.

I think about the farmers who can’t keep up with the price of diesel or fertilizer. The people across the state who had to choose between health care and keeping their homes. Moms struggling to put enough food on the table for their kids because politicians cut nutrition programs.

I also think about the people who told me they were tired of the corruption and unkindness in Washington. I think about these people and their stories every day. It’s why I’m in this race.

Now, here’s my promise to you. As your senator, I’ll answer to Kansas. Not to a party. Not to Washington. I’ll fight for every one of you, whether you vote for me or not. That’s what leading from the middle means.

If you haven’t voted yet, here’s everything you need to get it done:

Polls are open 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

If you’re in line by 7:00 p.m., stay in line. You have the right to vote.

Vote at your assigned polling place

On Election Day, you have to vote at your assigned polling place. It may have changed since the last election, so look it up at iwillvote.com before you head out, even if you’ve voted in the same spot for years. It takes about a minute.

Bring your photo ID

Kansas requires a photo ID to vote in person. A driver’s license, state ID card, passport, or military ID all work. For a full list of accepted forms of identification, visit the Secretary of State’s website.

Still have a mail ballot?

Don’t put it in the mailbox today. Take it to a ballot drop box, a polling place in your county, or your county election office by 7:00 p.m. Sign the envelope before you return it.

If something goes wrong

You have the right to vote without intimidation or confusion. If you run into a problem at the polls, don’t leave without voting. Ask for a provisional ballot, then call the Kansas voter protection hotline:

785-329-4006

Already voted? Bring three people.

Text three people right now and ask when they’re voting. Offer a ride. Check back with them at lunch. Races like this one are decided by the people who show up, and by the people who bring someone with them.

Polls are open until 7 tonight. Go vote, Kansas.
